Our Story
How a Brandenberg Block Is Made
Brandenberg Block boards begin in our family shop, Brandenberger Door Mfg, a custom cabinet component shop in Grabill, Indiana, building doors, drawer boxes, mouldings, and turnings for luxury custom cabinet makers.
Building for these customers demands long lengths and exacting quality — and designers who expect wood to look as uniform as plastic. That standard leaves behind a steady stream of beautiful hardwood that's unusable for cabinetry: too short, too much character, too much of what makes wood wood.
Instead of throwing that material away, we redeem it. Each offcut is milled, arranged end grain up, and glued into a board that is both highly functional and adds natural beauty anywhere it's displayed or used. The character that disqualified it from a cabinet door is exactly what makes each board one of a kind.
Redemption Is Our Story
Our desire in making these boards is that God our Heavenly Father would receive all the glory and honor — for He is worthy. He has redeemed us and made us far more than we could ever have been without Him.
We were sinners — every one of us has gone astray and rebelled against God. We inherited corruption from Adam, the first man, and rightly deserved destruction, because we rejected God's perfect plan and chose our own. But that was never God's purpose in creating us. His plan was glory — to be one with Him.
But God, in His great mercy, saves through Jesus Christ, who took the punishment we justly deserved. When you turn from your sins and believe in Jesus Christ for your salvation, you are no longer enslaved to your own will — you are free to do God's will, the perfect plan He had for you before the foundation of this earth.
No matter how deep in sin you find yourself, you can be redeemed by our Almighty God. That is the amazing story of redemption — and it's the heart of Brandenberg Block.
